FEEDING

What do chameleons like to eat?

Chameleons are insectivores, so they love a variety of LIVE insects such as crickets, roaches, fruit flies (when they are babies), house flies, silk worms, horned worms and more.

Cup feeding or free-range feeding. . . which do you recommend?

Chameleons are expert, natural born hunters.

HOUSING

What type of housing does a chameleon require?

What's best for a chameleon is an enclosure with all 4 sides and top, screened (NO glass sides/top as it radiates heat and does not
allow for the necessary air flow that chameleons require).

What kind of substrate do you use?

No substrate on cage floor – keep clean and dry. Your chameleon is arboreal and will spend
most of his/her time in the middle to top areas of the cage, not on the bottom. Substrate can
become a vector for bacteria (leading to potential illness), a hiding place for crickets, and a job
to keep clean when it isn’t necessary at all.
